FAQ FOR BRIDAL
Because we want your experience to be just as Blissful as the wedding gown you’ll find, here are a couple of pointers for making the most of your day shopping with us:
DO I NEED AN APPOINTMENT?
Yes. So that we can give each bride our undivided attention, fittings are by appointment only. We require private appointments to try on both wedding gowns and accessories. Please call us at 808.990.2899 or email us at email@example.com to schedule your appointment and specify if you are coming in for bridal or wedding design.
HOW LONG ARE APPOINTMENT TIMES?
We allot 1 hour for your bridal appointment. Because we are boutique stores, all gowns are out for browsing, and we have found one hour is the perfect amount of time to select your favorites and try them on.
WHEN SHOULD I ORDER MY WEDDING DRESS?
Dresses can take up to 4-5 months to produce, since it is being made to order. When you factor in shipping and alterations, it could be a 6 month total process. We suggest deciding on a dress 6 to 9 months prior to your wedding date, so you have time built in for fittings and accessorizing. There are rush options for weddings under 6 months, and rush fees do apply.
WHAT IS A TRUNK SHOW?
Bliss In Bloom carries an edited selection of each designer’s collection, but trunk shows are a designated time that Bliss In Bloom will have an extended selection of a particular designer. The trunk shows only last a couple of days, and appointments fill up quickly, so we recommend you book early if one of your favorite designers will be visiting Bliss In Bloom and you want to be able to shop the whole line. Discounts apply on trunk show merchandise during the trunk show dates only.
HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY APPOINTMENT?
Take some time to look through magazines and websites so you have a general idea of what you prefer in a wedding dress. This will help us get started in the selection process, although your stylist may also have some recommendations that you will love. It is helpful to bring undergarments of similar styles that you will wear on your wedding day, including strapless bras and those magic spanx! Also bring heels of a height that you will wear for your wedding so you can get the complete picture when dress shopping. We also kindly request that you arrive clean and free of any heavy perfumes, beach sand, or any other products that might damage the sample dresses.
WILL I NEED ALTERATIONS?
We like to order the dress as close to your current size as possible, but all bridal gowns need alterations to give it a perfect fit for your wedding day. When the gown you purchase arrives, we are happy to offer a suggested alterations assistant to start the fitting process, who can meet you here at Bliss In Bloom.
DO YOU DO FITTINGS IN YOUR SHOP?
We do not tailor in our store, but are happy to provide a place for the fitting, since a tailor’s shop has all have the bells and whistles at their fingertips to achieve a perfect fit and any last minute changes you may want to make to your gown. We don’t have any required alterations packages, which means you only pay for what you need to have done to make your gown fit like a glove.
CAN I BRING A LARGE PARTY TO MY APPOINTMENT?
We recommend that you limit your party to three or less during your visit at Bliss In Bloom. We are cozy little boutique with limited seating and we have found that the opinions of a trusted few always make for an easier decision for you.
As small boutique shop, we look forward to bringing all of our brides a wonderful experience; so please no food, drink, or dogs allowed. We also find it difficult to accommodate having small children since we have lots of delicate items in the shop. If you have any extenuating circumstances, please call first and we will do our best to find a time that will best accommodate your needs. Saturdays are the busiest, so weekday appointments are highly encouraged for larger groups.
